DISCUSSION GROUPS & BOOK GROUPS
Make Room for God is an ideal book for a parish, neighborhood or other book discussion group.
The book itself lends itself to group work with questions and activities at the end of each chapter. In addition, if you e-mail me telling me about your group (when you are meeting and which chapters you plan to discuss), I will be happy to send some supplemental questions and discussion starters. I can also answer specific questions that come up.
Another fun activity your discussion group can do is to have me 'visit' live via the telephone. All you need is a speaker phone! If your parish has a meeting room or office with a speaker phone, or an individual in the group has a speaker phone and is willing to have the group gather in his/her home, we will set up a time, and I will join you via telephone. It is helpful if the coordinator gathers a few starting questions to get the ball rolling. Otherwise, we can just have a lively and free exchange of ideas, questions, comments, etc. I really enjoy doing this with people--I learn so much from my readers. And your comments and questions may appear on this Web site (anonymously, of course).
My Make Room for God Journal was published last summer, so your group has the option of using both the book and journal to guide you through your course.
